The artist Bror Hjorth (1894–1968) is one of Sweden’s most renowned painters and sculptors. His home and studio are now a museum, with a large collection of his work plus temporary exhibitions of other artists. His famous works include Näckens Polska, the imposing fountain near Uppsala Travel Centre.
