From paganism to Christianity.

Gamla Uppsala is one of Scandinavia’s most important historic areas, with three royal burial sites dating from the 500s. Gamla Uppsala museum offers a fascinating journey through time, from the pagan kingdoms of the 500s to the introduction of Christianity. That marked the end of the Viking Age, and the start of construction of the old cathedral in the 1100s.

Nearby, you’ll also find Disagården, a museum of Uppland’s agricultural heritage.
